Indian passengers stranded in the UAE due to ongoing regional airspace restrictions now have alternative options to return home, as authorities and airlines work together to ease the disruption caused by recent flight suspensions.
With safe air corridors gradually reopening, current flight operations are handling up to 48 flights per hour. However, for those still awaiting a confirmed flight from Dubai or Abu Dhabi, two main travel alternatives have been made available: bus transfers to Oman for onward flights and special repatriation services from Fujairah.
Bus Transfers from Sharjah to Muscat
SalamAir and Oman Air, in partnership with Muwasalat, are offering bus transfers from Sharjah’s Jubail Bus Station to Muscat International Airport through March 5, 2026. Services run from 9am to 5pm and 8pm to 10:30pm daily. Passengers must book tickets in advance through authorised travel agencies or the mwasalat.om portal—no tickets will be sold at the station. To travel, passengers must hold a confirmed onward flight booking with SalamAir or Oman Air and arrive at the station 30 minutes before departure.
Oman Visa Requirements for Indian Nationals
Indian travellers must ensure they meet Oman’s entry requirements. This includes securing an e-visa (applied for through the Royal Oman Police portal) or, for those with valid US, UK, Canada, Japan, Schengen visas, or GCC residency, a visa on arrival. Passports must be valid for at least six months.
Special Flights from Fujairah
For those unable to secure a seat via Oman, SpiceJet is operating special flights from Fujairah International Airport to Delhi, Mumbai, and Kochi until March 5. Advance booking is required, and passengers can contact the airline’s 24/7 hotline for support.
