Etihad Airways has signed a tourism deal with Uzbekistan. Expanded its codeshare network. The move strengthens ties between the UAE and the Asian country.
The agreement was made during Arabian Travel Market 2026 in Dubai. It was signed by Aysha Saeed Al Kaabi, Vice President of Commercial Enablement at Etihad Airways, and Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan.
Under this cooperation, Etihad and Uzbekistan’s tourism authorities will work together on marketing campaigns, promotional events,s and trade initiatives. The goal is to bring international visitors to Uzbekistan.
The partnership will also use Etihad’s network to promote popular destinations like Samarkand and Bukhara. These cities are known for their history and cultural heritage.
Uzbekistan has seen growth in tourism this year. From January to August 20,26 the country welcomed 9.1 million tourists. Tourism service exports reached $4.6 billion, according to Abdulaziz Akkulov.
The Tourism Committee said it is now focused on growing tourism,m improving access for travellers, rs and making Uzbekistan more visible in the global travel market.
Eight new destinations have been added through the codeshare arrangement. This partnership started on May 15, 2026, between Etihad and Uzbekistan Airways.
Through this codeshare, Etihad passengers can book single-ticket journeys to eight cities in Uzbekistan. These include Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Nukus, Termez, Fergana, Namangan and Andijan.
The codeshare makes it easier for travelers to connect across Uzbekistan. It also opens up destinations that are accessible through Etihad’s network.
A new route has been launched from Abu Dhabi to Tashkent. On August,9 20,26 Etihad began non-stop flights using an Airbus A320.
This service connects the UAE capital with Uzbekistan’s capital. It also gives travelers a gateway to explore Central Asia.
Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves said the airline’s worldwide network, combined with its growing partnership with Uzbekistan Airways, will help travelers discover Uzbekistan’s cities and other attractions.
