Dubai: People living in the UAE are in for another summer spell. Temperatures are expected to reach 47°C in areas from the coast. At the same time humidity levels will rise significantly in coastal areas,, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.
The weather will be mostly fair over the weekend. Some clouds may form over parts of the country. It will get humid at night. Early morning, which might lead to fog and mist in some coastal and inland areas.
Inland Areas to Face Extreme Heat
Temperatures in areas will range from 43°C to 47°C. Coastal and island areas will see temperatures between 36°C and 42°C. Mountain areas will be cooler, with highs between 32°C and 37°C. Humidity levels might reach 90% in some areas. This will make it feel even hotter. Reduce visibility early in the morning.
Winds to Pick Up
Light to moderate winds from the southwest and northwest will blow across most of the UAE, averaging 10 to 20 km/h. At times, winds will get stronger, reaching up to 35 km/h in open areas. The sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea will be slight. However, changing winds might make the waters rougher later in the week.
Humidity to Continue Through the Week
Meteorologists expect humid conditions to continue through Sunday night and into Monday morning in coastal areas. Fog and mist might form before sunrise, affecting visibility on roads. On Monday, winds over the waters will get stronger, with gusts reaching 40 km/h. This might make the Arabian Gulf rough by evening.
Dust and Rough Seas Expected
Temperatures will slightly decline on Tuesday. However, stronger winds might blow dust in exposed areas, reducing visibility and making driving difficult. The Arabian Gulf will become moderate to rough. The Oman Sea will likely remain calm.
Outlook for Midweek
The weather on Wednesday will be largely stable with skies across most of the UAE. However, humidity will return overnight. Into Thursday morning. Fresh northwest winds might continue to stir dust and rough sea conditions in parts of the Arabian Gulf. Authorities advise people to drink plenty of water, stay indoors during peak afternoon hours and be alert for fog, dust and changing sea conditions in the coming days.
