Disneyland Abu Dhabi Moves Ahead: Mega Theme Park Plans Gain Momentum

Disneyland Abu Dhabi plans are still moving forward. Miral Groups CEO, Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi confirmed that the company is committed to making this entertainment project a reality.

The project is a collaboration with The Walt Disney Company. Al Zaabi recently congratulated Thomas Mazloum on becoming the Chairman of Disney Experiences. He expressed confidence in the Disney leadership team.

Al Zaabi said, “We are excited to bring Disney to Abu Dhabi. We will work closely with the Disney team to make this happen.” He emphasized how big and important this project is.

The Disneyland Abu Dhabi project was first announced in May 2025. It will be Disneys theme park in the Middle East. When its done it will be Disneys theme park joining others in:

  • California
  • Florida
  • Tokyo
  • Paris
  • Hong Kong
  • Shanghai

Miral Group and Disney are working together to bring the Disneyland experience to Abu Dhabi. The project is a deal, for the region.

The new development is going to be on Yas Island, which’s already a big place for entertainment and tourism in the UAE. Yas Island is where you can find things like Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld so it makes sense that a big project like this would be there.

This year Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney went to the site and shared some pictures. He said the project is really exciting. There is still a lot of work to be done. The plan is for the development to be right on the water and people think it will probably be in the Yas North area.

It is going to take a while to get everything done. The plan is to spend one to two years designing everything and then four to six years building it. This means the development will probably open in the 2030s. The Disney park will have some things that you do not see at other Disney parks like a castle that is connected to water.

The people in charge say the project will be Disney, but very Emirati. They want to tell stories from around the world but also include the local culture. This will help Abu Dhabi become a place for tourism and entertainment. The new development on Yas Island will be a place to visit. The Disney park on Yas Island will be a deal, for Abu Dhabi.
