Gradual Return to the Skies After Disruption
Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi’s national carrier, has resumed a limited schedule of flights, reconnecting the UAE capital with approximately 70 destinations around the world. The move comes as the region’s airspace gradually stabilises following recent disruptions, allowing the airline to restore essential links for travellers.
Temporary Schedule Covers Major Cities Worldwide
In an operational update released Friday, Etihad announced that its revised schedule will run from March 6 to March 19. During this period, flights will operate from Zayed International Airport, enabling passengers to reach key cities across Europe, Asia, North America, Africa, and the Middle East. The airline is prioritising safety and operational checks as it works to rebuild its global network.
The updated list of destinations includes major hubs such as London, New York City, Paris, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, and Toronto. Etihad has also resumed several important routes to the Indian subcontinent, including flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Thiruvananthapuram—helping reconnect families and business travellers between the UAE and India.
Wider Regional and International Reach
In addition to its long-haul flights, Etihad is also serving destinations such as Bangkok, Jakarta, Istanbul, Karachi, and Riyadh. European cities like Frankfurt, Madrid, and Vienna are back on the schedule as well, providing much-needed connectivity for passengers eager to travel for work or leisure.

Etihad cautions that all flights are subject to operational approvals and regional airspace conditions, meaning schedules could change at short notice. Travellers are strongly advised to check the latest flight information on the airline’s website before heading to the airport, as not all routes are being served daily under the current limited timetable.
Travel Across the UAE Gradually Normalising
With other carriers such as Emirates, flydubai, and Air Arabia also resuming select services, air travel across the UAE is slowly returning to normal. Authorities are reminding passengers to travel only with confirmed bookings and to stay informed through official airline channels as flight operations continue to stabilise nationwide.
