Dubai: The iPhone 18 Pro Max has sparked a resale market. Some buyers are being offered between Dh1,000 and Dh3,000 more than Apple’s UAE price for new devices.
The phones went on sale across the UAE on Friday, September 18. Away resellers gathered outside the Apple Store at Dubai Mall. They waited for customers who had just bought an iPhone, hoping to make a profit.
Resellers who spoke with Gulf News say the Burgundy version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max is especially popular.
Prices shift quickly.
Apple lists the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro Max at Dh5,499 in the UAE. On Dubizzle, newly listed units are going for about Dh6,500—roughly Dh1,000 over the official price.
Higher storage models are selling for more. Some 512GB versions are listed at around Dh9,000.
Resellers say prices change fast as more phones come onto the market. One reseller said early offers for the Burgundy Pro Max started near Dh7,000 but then dropped as more units became available.
The busiest scene was at Dubai Mall. Security guards were there to control crowds. Stop resellers from gathering too closely in one spot.
Similar activity was seen outside Apple stores in the UAE. Resellers stood ready, watching for people coming out with their iPhones.
Burgundy draws attention
The new Burgundy color has caught a lot of interest. Resellers say it’s one of the requested options.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at Dh5,499 for the 256GB model. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at Dh5,099 for the base storage. Both have options up to 2TB. The top model of the Pro Max costs Dh10,599.
Apple also runs a trade-in program. Customers can get between Dh160 and Dh3,260 credit depending on the condition and model of their phone.
For resellers, the release time in the UAE created a moving market. Premiums keep shifting as more stock appears. Now demand is mostly focused on the Burgundy Pro Max.
This resale rush shows how strong the interest is in Apple’s flagship device—even as official sales expand across the country.
