Muscat: One person was killed and nine injured on Saturday after a vehicle carrying Indians went off the road and overturned in Oman, the Royal Oman Police said.
The accident happened on Sultan Said bin Taimur Road in the Wilayat of Haima, the capital of Al Wusta Governorate.
One person died on the spot while the other nine were injured in various degrees.
Two injured airlifted
The two injured were airlifted by the Royal Oman Police Aviation service to the Nizwa Hospital for treatment.
The seven other injured passengers were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Authorities did not immediately give out any additional information about the incident, including the condition of the injured.
Police investigating
The reason for the accident was not immediately revealed. The police also did not say whether there were any other vehicles involved in the crash. Emergency services were called to the scene and took the injured to the hospital as police investigated the cause of the accident.
