Dubai: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) reported a net profit before tax of Dh443.2 million for the first half of 2026, driven by robust trading activity, strong investor participation and higher market liquidity.
The exchange said average daily traded value rose 45.1% year-on-year to Dh1.004 billion, while the average number of daily trades increased 35.4% to around 18,759. Total traded value climbed 40.4% to Dh119.5 billion, compared with Dh85.1 billion during the same period last year.
Despite the increase in trading activity, DFM’s market capitalisation stood at Dh981.6 billion at the end of June, down 1.4% from a year earlier. The DFM General Index closed the first half at 5,955.58 points.
DFM Chairman Helal Saeed Al Marri said the strong performance reflects sustained investor confidence and the continued development of Dubai’s capital markets. He noted that average daily trading exceeding Dh1 billion demonstrates growing market depth and increasing engagement from both local and international investors.
The exchange reported consolidated revenue of Dh557 million during the first six months of 2026, compared with Dh888.9 million in the same period last year. The decline was primarily due to a one-off gain of Dh462.2 million from the sale of an investment property recorded in the first half of 2025.
Revenue during the latest reporting period included Dh384.8 million from operations and Dh172.2 million from investment returns and other income. Operating expenses remained broadly stable at Dh113.8 million, reflecting continued investment in technology and market infrastructure while maintaining cost discipline.
DFM attracted 42,864 new investors during the first half of the year, with international investors accounting for 71.4% of new registrations. Institutional investors contributed 71.2% of total traded value, while foreign investors represented 51% of overall market activity.
Chief Executive Hamed Ali said the continued participation of institutional and international investors highlights confidence in Dubai’s financial markets and reinforces the emirate’s position as a leading global investment hub.
