Dubai: flydubai is expanding its network to Italy by increasing flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo, offering passengers more travel options as demand for winter travel continues to grow. The Dubai-based carrier has upgraded its Dubai-Naples route to flights from July 27. It will also increase services between Dubai and Milan-Bergamo to daily from July 31, strengthening connectivity between the UAE and northern Italy.
Passengers travelling to Naples in November should note an operational change. From November 1 to November 30, flydubai will operate flights to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport (QSR) or Naples International Airport (NAP) while maintenance work is carried out at Naples Airport.
The airline said customers already booked on Naples flights during the period will be automatically rebooked to Salerno services with flights returning to Naples International Airport from December 1. flydubai Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said Naples and Milan have become important destinations within the airline’s European network.
“We are pleased to expand our operations to both cities as we continue strengthening connectivity between the UAE and Italy ” he said.
With the schedule changes flydubai will operate:
Twice daily flights to Milan-Bergamo.
Twice-weekly daily flights to Naples.
Three weekly flights to Catania.
Seasonal twice-weekly flights to Olbia until the end of August.
Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, said the additional services reflect the growing importance of the market and provide passengers with greater flexibility.
The Naples and Milan-Bergamo routes operate under the Emirates codeshare, allowing travellers to benefit from single-ticket bookings through checked baggage and seamless onward connections via Dubai to destinations including Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Zanzibar.
The expansion forms part of flydubai’s network growth strategy following the launch of services to Aleppo, Bangkok and Benghazi, with flights to Pokhara, Nepal scheduled to begin on September 23.
