Traffic Alert: Al Mamzar Closures Add to Delays on Dubai-Sharjah Corridor

Dubai: On Thursday evening people driving in Dubai and near the Sharjah border had to wait a time because of heavy traffic. The traffic was very bad around Deira, Dubai Creek and Al Ittihad Road.

The roads around Dubai Creek were the worst. There was traffic near Al Ghurair Centre, Deira Clocktower and Al Rigga. This was because many people were going home from work and shopping.

The roads through Naif and Al Murar were also very busy. There were a lot of cars on the D80 and D78 roads. They were all waiting to cross the creek.

There was a problem near Al Seef and Al Maktoum Bridge so people had to take a route. They could use Al Garhoud Bridge or the Floating Bridge, which were not as busy.

Near Dubai International Airport the traffic was okay.. It was slow on some parts of Sheikh Rashid Road near Terminals 1 and 2. This was because a lot of flights were arriving and people were dropping off passengers. The small roads near the airport were not as busy.

The traffic was the worst on Al Ittihad Road near the Dubai-Sharjah border. It was very slow near Al Nahda Park and Sahara Centre. This made it take a time to travel between Dubai and Sharjah.

There were also problems near Al Mamzar and Al Khan. Some roads were closed near the Corniche so people had to take a route to get to Al Khan, Al Majaz and the waterfront.

In some areas the traffic was not bad. The roads near University City, Muwaileh and the industrial areas in Sharjah were clear. There were a few slow parts, near City Centre Al Zahia. People should leave early. Check the traffic before they go. The traffic can change because of the roads and the weather.
