Fake Flight and Hotel Deals on the Rise, Warn Dubai Police

Dubai: Dubai Police are telling people who live in Dubai to be careful when they look for travel deals on the internet. This is because Dubai Police want people to know about travel deals that are not real.

Dubai Police are giving this warning because a lot of people are getting ready for their summer vacations. The warning is from the Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation. This is part of the #BewareOfFraud campaign.

Scams are happening now because it is the peak vacation season. Fake travel websites and social media accounts are being made by people. These fake websites and accounts look like travel agencies. They offer cheap holiday packages and flights to trick people into buying them. People who get tricked are often. Messaged on their phones. The bad people tell them they have to pay away. They say the offer will end soon or that there are a few seats left.

When people send money to the people, they find out that no flights or hotel rooms were booked. Dubai Police are telling people to be careful when they see travel deals that’re much cheaper than usual. People should only book their travel with travel agencies and websites they trust. Dubai Police also say people should check the website address carefully before they enter their banking information.

The police are reminding people not to send money to people they do not know. People should not share their bank card details, one-time passwords or account passwords. If people see travel deals or websites, they should tell Dubai Police about it. They can report it on the e- platform or call 901 for help.
