Abu Dhabi To Ban Delivery Motorcycles on High-Speed Roads

Authorities in Abu Dhabi have announced a rule for traffic. This rule says that delivery motorcycles can not use some of the roads in Abu Dhabi starting from May 15 2026. The people in charge want to make the roads safer for everyone, including the motorcycle riders and the car drivers.

The Integrated Transport Centre, which is part of Abu Dhabi Mobility, said that delivery motorcycles will not be allowed on roads where cars can go 120 km/h or faster. This rule will also apply to a part of Sheikh Zayed Street from Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel. The people in charge think this will make the roads safer and help traffic move

Motorcycle riders are more likely to get hurt on the road on the highways where cars go very fast. So the new rule is meant to protect both the motorcycle riders and the car drivers by not letting motorcycles use the roads that are considered dangerous.

This new rule is part of a plan to make the roads safer in the UAE. The authorities are trying to reduce the number of accidents on the road make the traffic move better, and make rules for delivery companies.

The people in charge also said that more and more motorcycles are on the road because many people are ordering food and other things to be delivered. This makes it more important to make sure the roads are safe. By keeping the delivery motorcycles off the roads, the authorities hope to reduce the number of accidents and improve traffic flow.

The Integrated Transport Centre is telling the delivery companies and riders to learn about the rule before it starts next week. The companies might need to change the way they plan their deliveries to follow the rule.

The new rule will start on May 15 2026. The authorities will be watching to make sure everyone is following it. They want to make sure the roads are safe for everyone in Abu Dhabi.
