Afghanistan earthquake today: 5.9 quake kills 8 in Kabul

An earthquake again in the Kabul region. It is very serious. This time, a 5.9-magnitude earthquake hit parts of Afghanistan and some other places. It was so strong that it killed eight people and hurt a child.

The earthquake started in the Hindu Kush mountains and people felt it in areas like the city of Kabul. The Afghan Disaster Management Authority said that the people who died were in a building that fell down. The people who help in emergencies went to the place quickly but they could not save eight people.

The child who got hurt is getting help from doctors now. People are still trying to see how damage the earthquake did. Even though nobody else has been hurt people are still very worried because this region has had earthquakes before that did a lot of damage.

The earthquake was not just felt in Afghanistan. People in countries like Islamabad and New Delhi also felt it and it scared them. Many people ran out of their homes and buildings when the ground was shaking. Thankfully there was not too much damage in those places.

People who study earthquakes said that this one was 150 kilometers deep and it happened near the border of Afghanistan and Tajikistan. The earthquake was not as bad as it could have been because it was deep in the ground. It was still very bad for some buildings.

Afghanistan is in a place where earthquakes happen a lot because the ground is moving. There have been earthquakes in the past that have caused a lot of damage especially in places where people live in houses made of mud and other weak things.

The people in charge are telling everyone to be careful because there might be earthquakes, in the next few days. The emergency services are ready to help if anything else happens and they are watching the situation closely.
