Several UAE flights are currently delayed or cancelled as airlines continue to monitor regional airspace amidst ongoing Gulf tensions.
Dubai: UAE travellers are facing another day of mixed flight operations as cancellations and delays were reported at Dubai International Airport and Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi.
Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia continue to operate several regional services, although schedules remain subject to change. Airlines are advising passengers to check their individual flight status before travelling to the airport.
At Dubai International Airport cancelled services include flydubai flight FZ815 to Abha, Emirates flights EK237 to Boston and EK083 to Geneva, as well as Aljazeera and Qeshm Airlines services to Kuwait and Tehran. SpiceJet flights SG5158 to Jaipur and SG5112 to New Delhi were also cancelled. Air India Express flight IX196 from Dubai to Jaipur was delayed.
At Zayed International Airport delays were reported on Air Arabia Abu Dhabi flights 3L431 to Cairo and 3L032 to Amman. Etihad flights EY822 to Seoul and EY739 to Tunis were also delayed, alongside Turkish Airlines flight TK869 to Istanbul.
Etihad said services between Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Kuwait were mostly operating normally, with no major cancellations reported. The airline also clarified that a September 14 Tokyo-Abu Dhabi delay was caused by a technical issue unrelated to the regional conflict.
Emirates services between Dubai and Bahrain and Kuwait continued to operate. flydubai reported several Bahrain and Kuwait services operating or scheduled.
Air Arabia reported a mixture of cancellations and scheduled services on routes between the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain, including cancelled Sharjah-Kuwait flights G9068 and G9124 and Sharjah-Bahrain flight G9107.
Meanwhile, international airlines are taking a mixed approach. Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Air India, Air India Express and selected IndiGo services have resumed/maintained several Gulf routes, while carriers including Air Canada, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, ITA Airways, Finnair, Korean Air and Cathay Pacific continue to suspend some UAE services.
Passengers should not assume that a confirmed ticket guarantees normal operation. Travellers are advised to check directly with their airline before leaving home, complete online check-in where available and allow extra time at the airport.
With regional conditions changing rapidly further delays, cancellations or schedule changes could be announced at short notice.
