UAE expresses solidarity with Syria after Jarmana bus bombing

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the terrorist bombing of a passenger bus in the city of Jarmana near the capital of Syria, Damascus. Several people were killed and injured in the attack.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) condemned the attack on Friday in a statement and reiterated the UAE’s position against any form of terrorism and attacks that target innocent civilians.

The ministry called the bombing an act of terrorism that aims to destabilise the region by targeting innocent lives and said that the UAE firmly opposes any attacks that can cause additional regional security challenges. Additionally, the ministry extended its condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the Syrian government and people, for this attack that has generated several injuries and fatalities.

MoFA expressed solidarity with the people of Syria, those injured and those who lost their loved ones during the bombing.

Meanwhile, the attack that happened in Jarmana, near the capital of Syria, is part of the security challenges that this country continues to face despite the achievements made to stabilise certain areas within the nation.

The UAE called for confrontation of all forms and sources of terrorism, noting that terrorism is a threat to civilians’ security, as well as to peace and stability in the region and the country.

The ministry’s message shows the UAE’s position of solidarity with the Syrian people, as well as the country’s condemnation of attacks that create additional security challenges and hinder regional and national stability.

Furthermore, the bombing that happened in Jarmana adds to the security challenges that the capital of Syria continues to face.

The UAE once again reiterated its position against terrorist acts that target innocent civilians in different parts of the world and said that terrorism knows no borders. Abu Dhabi has called for concerted regional and international efforts to combat terrorism, noting that such activities threaten global security and are a challenge to international peace.

For its part, Syria continues to face security threats that prevent the country from enjoying stability, especially with the recent bombing that has caused many casualties. The UAE once again expressed solidarity with the Syrian people and conveyed its condolences to the families of the victims of the bombing.
