Dubai Introduces Solar-Powered AI Cameras for Street Parking

Parkin is putting up more than 500 cameras that use artificial intelligence in major areas of Dubai. These cameras are part of a system that makes parking smarter. The system helps collect fees and makes traffic management better.

The first part of the plan includes putting cameras on curbs and poles in areas with a lot of traffic. These areas include Downtown Dubai near the Burj Khalifa, Trade Centre 1 and Al Corniche. The system uses intelligence to take pictures of vehicles, read license plates and track how long a vehicle is parked in real time.

Parkin says that this technology lets people pay for parking automatically. They do not need to use parking meters or send messages to pay. The payment is made directly through the Parkin application and its digital wallet system.

The company is also putting up cameras on curbs that are made to fit into the existing street infrastructure. They are putting up 200 cameras in parking facilities all over Dubai.

The good thing is that all these devices are powered by energy. This helps Dubai achieve its goal of being a city.

The Chief Executive Officer of Parkin, Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, says that this project is a step towards making parking smarter and better for customers in Dubai.

The artificial intelligence system will also help manage traffic. It will provide real-time information about which parking spaces are available. This will help reduce the time people spend looking for parking spaces, which is a big cause of traffic jams.

The system will also ensure that people are correctly fined for parking violations. It will link the fine to how the vehicle was parked, so there will be no incorrect fines.

The cameras work with the Parkin application, which is available on iOS, Android and Huawei devices. This creates a system for parking, making it easier for people to use.

This project is part of Dubai’s plan to use intelligence in public services and transportation systems. The Roads and Transport Authority has also made some changes to improve road safety and traffic flow in Dubai.
