Dubai: Consumers in the UAE have been assured that table egg products involved in a recall in the United States over salmonella contamination are not found in local markets.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment confirmed that the affected products were not imported into the UAE or sold in the country. The confirmation followed checks by food safety officials, who looked at import records and trade data to see if any products covered by the US recall had entered the market.

No recalled eggs detected

Authorities said the checks found no evidence that products in the US recall had entered the UAE or were being sold in markets. The US recall was issued as a precaution because some table egg products could be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria, which can cause illness.

The UAE ministry’s statement is meant to reassure consumers that the recalled products have not been found locally and that monitoring measures stay in place.

Import controls remain in place

UAE food safety authorities regularly monitor imported food products and international safety alerts to spot risks before affected goods reach consumers.

Import records and products in markets can be checked when international recalls are announced, letting regulators know if affected batches have entered the country.

The latest checks found no link between the US-recalled eggs and products sold in UAE markets. Consumers can keep buying eggs from retailers while authorities keep routine monitoring of imported food products.

The UAE has food safety procedures covering imported and local food, with regulators working to stop products under international safety alerts from reaching consumers.

The ministry’s confirmation comes while food safety agencies worldwide keep coordinating on recalls and contamination risks for products that spread across many markets. For UAE consumers, authorities said there is no sign that the recalled US egg products are part of the country’s food supply.
