Emirates Airlines has retained its position as the world’s most profitable airline after posting record financial results for the 2025–26 fiscal year. This happened despite some problems caused by tensions in the region toward the end of the period.
The Emirates Group reported a profit before tax of Dh24.4 billion. This is up 7% from the year. Total revenue climbed to Dh150.5 billion. They also had a record Dh59.6 billion in cash assets.
The results cover the period from April 2025 to March 2026. Emirates said that its operations were significantly affected during the month. This was because of tensions that disrupted commercial aviation routes across the Gulf.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said that Emirates benefited from Dubai’s aviation infrastructure. He said rapid coordination efforts helped secure air corridors during the crisis.
Emirates had to operate at reduced passenger capacity. They gradually restored services while expanding cargo operations. This was to support supply movements.
Emirates airline alone reported Dh22.8 billion in profit before tax. Their revenue reached Dh130.9 billion. They transported 53.2 million passengers during the year. They maintained a seat factor of 78.4%.
The airline continued to expand its fleet. They got deliveries of Airbus A350 aircraft. They are also doing upgrades under their $5 billion retrofit programme.
Their total fleet now stands at 277 aircraft. The order book has expanded to 367 aircraft. This is after major deals announced at the Dubai Airshow.
Emirates also retained its ranking as one of the world’s valuable airline brands. Their brand value rose to $10.6 billion. This is according to Brand Finance.
The Group’s workforce grew by 8%. They now have more than 130,000 employees worldwide. Recruitment continued across Emirates and dnata operations.
The company said it remains focused on investing in aircraft. They are also investing in technology, infrastructure and customer experience. They want to strengthen Dubai’s position as an aviation hub.
Emirates delivered record profits and revenue. They did this despite the disruption. This reinforces their dominance in aviation. It also highlights the resilience of Dubai’s aviation sector.
