MoHRE Warns Firms to Meet Emiratisation Targets Before June 30 Deadline

Abu Dhabi, May 7 2026: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation or MoHRE is warning private sector companies to meet their Emiratisation targets. These companies must have 50 or more workers. Need to meet the targets before June 30. If they do not they will face penalties and possible downgrades.

The Emiratisation policy says eligible companies must increase the number of Emiratis in roles by 1% in the first half of 2026. They must do it again in the half of the year. This means they need an increase of 2% for the year.

The authorities say that from July 1 companies that do not meet the targets will face penalties. The ministry is telling businesses not to wait until the moment. They should start recruiting Emiratis

The MoHRE is asking employers to use the Nafis platform. This platform connects employers with Emirati jobseekers in sectors and specialisations. The programme helps companies with recruitment, training and qualification processes. The goal is to increase the number of Emiratis in the private sector workforce.

The ministry says there are 54 days left before the deadline. It is essential for firms to complete their hiring plans and ensure they comply with the rules.

The officials are also warning against Emiratisation. They say some companies try to manipulate hiring records. The MoHRE has a digital inspection and monitoring system. This system uses intelligence to detect violations.

Companies that violate the regulations could face legal action. This includes downgrading within the ministry’s classification system and mandatory corrective measures.

Citizens can report suspected violations through channels. These channels include the ministry’s application, website and hotline. The ministry praises companies that comply with Emiratisation policies. These companies are helping to strengthen the economy and support Emirati talent.

Companies that do well with Emiratisation may benefit from incentives. These incentives are part of the Emiratisation Partners Club. They include discounts of up to 80% on MoHRE service fees and priority in government procurement opportunities. UAE authorities are working hard to boost Emirati participation in the sector. They will start compliance checks and penalties from July 1.
