Pakistan Restores Passport Services in UAE After Global Outage

Dubai, May 5 2026: Pakistan passport services are working again in the UAE and other countries. This comes after a big technical problem stopped these services for eight days. The problem was at the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports headquarters in Islamabad.

The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai and the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi said that everything is back to normal now. They want people to come during the hours.

The problem started on April 29. Affected how passports are processed everywhere. This meant that Pakistani embassies and consulates had to stop their services. Many people in the Gulf region including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait were affected by this.

In the UAE, they usually process around 800 to 1,000 passport applications every day. When the services stopped, it caused a lot of trouble for people who needed to travel, renew their visas or sort out their jobs. People who needed passports for their babies or had passports that were expiring were especially affected.

The people in charge said that the IT teams worked hard to fix the problem. They got the systems working again, and now the missions can do their jobs normally. Now that the services are back, they think many people will come to sort out their pending cases.

The consulates are telling people to plan their visits and to expect to wait longer than usual. They will probably help people with cases first, like those who need to travel or have legal problems.

Now that Pakistan passport services are working again, it is a relief for many Pakistani expatriates, especially in the UAE. Many people in the UAE depend on these services to get the documents they need to travel.

Even though the services are working again, it may take a day to clear the backlog. The missions will have to work to manage the high demand and get back to their normal schedules. Pakistan passport services will be very busy. Pakistan passport services are expecting a lot of work.
