UAE Warns: Unused Apps Could Be a Hidden Cybersecurity Threat

The UAE Cyber Security Council is telling people that unused apps on our phones and computers can be a problem for cybersecurity. We use our smartphones, laptops and tablets all the time so the council wants us to be more careful with them.

The council says that apps we do not use can make our devices weak. These apps do not get updates so they can be used by hackers to get into our devices. This can happen when we have many files and our storage is full.

If our devices are slow or keep stopping it might be a sign that something’s wrong. We might have apps on our devices that we do not know about. These apps can be a problem.

To stay safe the council says we should clean our devices every week. We should spend a time looking at our devices and getting rid of apps we do not need. We should also make sure our software is up to date.

The UAE Cyber Security Council also says we should use security software to protect our devices. We should check our devices for problems. Look at what apps can do on our devices. If we see any apps that we do not need we should get rid of them.

The council thinks that if we do these things we can reduce cyber problems by up to 30 per cent. This shows that taking care of our devices is very important.

As we use the internet more and more in the United Arab Emirates we all need to help keep our devices safe. While new technology can help what we do every day is also important.

So if we keep our devices clean and up, to date we can protect our information and help keep the internet safe. The UAE Cyber Security Council wants us to remember that cybersecurity is everyones responsibility, including ours.
