Schools and universities in the UAE are getting ready to go back to classrooms.. For now no final decision has been made on whether students will go back to school next week.
The UAE authorities said on April 14 that they are planning a step-by-step return to in-person learning. Some steps have already started. This news came from the UAEs education authorities. It shows a change after weeks of online learning.
Since March all schools and universities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been online. This was done to be safe because of security worries in the Gulf.
The online learning period ends on Friday, April 17. Parents and students are waiting to know what’s next.
There’s no word that schools will reopen on Monday, April 20. Authorities also said that online learning won’t continue until May 1.
Instead officials say they will make an announcement on April 15. This will be through the Ministry of Education and other official channels. This news will say whether schools will:
- Go back to classes
- Keep learning
- Try a mix of both
The UAE has started getting ready to reopen schools. Nurseries will reopen in phases this week. This is the step to normal classroom learning.
Authorities are checking schools to make sure they’re safe for students and staff. In Dubai there are options for younger kids:
- Small group learning at home
- One-on-one or small group sessions with teachers
The academic calendar has changed a lot. Some exam boards. Like IGCSE, A Levels and IB. Have cancelled external exams in the UAE for 2026. Schools will decide grades in ways.
