UAE Warns of Safety Risks as Rainwater Accumulates in Open Areas

People living in Abu Dhabi are being warned to stay from pools of rainwater that have formed after recent showers. The weather in the UAE is still unstable. Authorities are concerned about hidden dangers.

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Centre has advised the public to avoid going near areas where water has accumulated. They say these pools can be very risky. The ground can be unstable. There can be hidden debris, contamination and deep spots that you can’t see.

This warning comes after it rained lightly to moderately in Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas. The rain brought temperatures and cloudy skies. While the weather has been a change officials are stressing that safety should come first.

The National Centre of Meteorology says the current weather is caused by a low-pressure system near the surface and an upper-level extension. This is causing clouds to form and scattered rain to fall across parts of the country.

The forecast says it will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of rain in areas. Winds will be light to moderate. Can get stronger at times especially over coastal and open areas. The sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf might become moderate to rough when there are clouds.

On Sunday the weather will likely still be unsettled. There will be cloud build-up possible rain and a drop in temperatures. Stronger winds might also pick up dust reducing visibility in some areas.

Looking ahead conditions are expected to get early next week. However there is still a chance of rain in eastern and southern regions on Monday along, with more humidity overnight into Tuesday.

Authorities are urging people to be careful avoid risks and stay updated with official weather advisories as the situation changes. Unsettled weather is still a concern and rainwater pools remain a risk.
