The fire injured people. At 25 people were seriously hurt. Over 30 people had injuries. Three workers are still missing.

Rescue teams had a time. They were worried the building might fall down. The factory had sodium inside. Sodium is a material. It can explode if it gets wet or is handled wrong. This made it very risky for firefighters to put out the fire.

People who saw what happened said they heard an explosion before the fire spread really fast and covered the whole plant. There are some shocking pictures of thick black smoke going up into the air as firefighters tried to put out the fire using big water jets on cranes. The fire was finally under control by Saturday afternoon.

Korean President Lee Jae Myung said we need to do everything we can to help. He wants all the people who can help to go and find the missing people and take care of the ones who are hurt.

This accident is making people worry again about how safe it’s to work in South Korea. The numbers show that than 10,000 workers died in accidents at work between 2000 and 2024.

This fire is also reminding people of the fire at the Hwaseong lithium battery factory that killed 22 people. That accident led to a court decision that said the company was negligent.

The fire department is still trying to figure out what caused the fire. They are looking into the fire to see what happened. The fire is a deal and people want to know what caused it. Korean President Lee Jae Myung and the people of South Korea want to know what happened so they can make sure the plant is safe. The plant fire is a concern, for everyone.
