Global Village Dubai Remains Closed Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Global Village Dubai, one of the city’s most popular outdoor attractions, will remain closed on Tuesday, March 3, as regional tensions continue to mount. The closure, which also affected operations on March 1 and 2, is part of a series of precautionary measures being taken across the UAE to ensure public safety.

In an official statement, Global Village explained that the decision was made in line with guidance from authorities. Visitors are being asked to monitor the attraction’s website and social media channels for updates on when it will reopen.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has activated an advanced action plan to manage the situation, confirming that all response systems remain fully operational. NCEMA’s ongoing assessments and monitoring efforts are part of a broader nationwide strategy to protect the community and maintain stability during this period of heightened uncertainty.

The Ministry of Defence also reported that UAE air defense systems successfully intercepted a barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles, emphasizing that the country’s armed forces are on high alert and fully prepared to safeguard national security.

Air travel in the region remains disrupted. While some UAE airlines have been able to resume limited flights, authorities are maintaining close oversight and are ready to respond as developments unfold.

To further safeguard residents, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have instructed schools and universities to continue remote learning through Wednesday, March 4, 2026. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has also advised private sector companies to implement remote working wherever possible, reducing on-site staff to only those in essential roles.

These measures come as the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran enters its fourth day, with no signs of immediate de-escalation. Authorities are urging residents to remain calm, follow official updates, and avoid spreading unverified information.

As the UAE prioritizes the safety and well-being of its residents and visitors, closures like that of Global Village serve as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and preparedness during uncertain times. For now, families and tourists alike are encouraged to stay tuned to official sources for the latest information on reopenings and public safety guidance.
