UAE Denies Bloomberg Allegations, Reaffirms Multi-Layered Defence Strength

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has firmly rejected claims made in a recent Bloomberg report about the country’s defence capabilities, calling the assertions “false and misleading.” In a statement issued from Abu Dhabi, officials stressed that the report misrepresented the UAE’s level of preparedness, technological sophistication, and overall readiness to defend itself.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of responsible journalism, urging media outlets to verify sensitive information with official sources before publishing. “Inaccurate reporting on national defence matters undermines public confidence and transparency,” the statement noted.

Highlighting the UAE’s actual capabilities, the Ministry explained that the country relies on a network of advanced, multi-layered air defence systems designed to counter a wide range of aerial threats. These include long-range interception systems for early detection, medium-range defences for layered coverage, and short-range systems for close-in protection—together providing robust protection for the nation’s airspace.

Officials also pointed out that the UAE maintains a strong strategic stockpile of munitions, ensuring the country has sustained interception and response abilities if needed. This stockpile, they said, is part of the UAE’s commitment to be fully prepared to safeguard its sovereignty and security at all times.

The Ministry reaffirmed that the UAE’s defence infrastructure and national security framework remain uncompromised and steadfast, with the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors always the nation’s top priority.

Concluding the statement, the Ministry again called for accurate reporting, especially on issues as critical as national defence, to avoid unnecessary alarm or misunderstanding among the public. They encouraged media outlets to reach out to official sources for verification before publishing stories that could affect public trust and security.
