Dubai Airports Shut Down Flight Operations Amid Security Concerns in the Gulf

Flights at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) have been suspended until further notice, as escalating tensions in the region prompt widespread airspace closures across the Gulf. The move has left many travelers scrambling to adjust plans, with airlines urging passengers to stay away from the airports and check directly with their carriers for the latest information on rebooking and refunds.

The cancellations come as several Gulf countries temporarily close or restrict their airspace in response to the deteriorating regional security situation. As a result, airlines have been forced to cancel, reroute, or delay flights as a precaution.

Dubai-based carriers Emirates and flydubai have both confirmed that they have cancelled flights for February 28. Emirates announced it had halted operations to and from Dubai due to multiple regional airspace closures and is closely monitoring the situation with authorities. Flydubai called the situation “developing” and said it would continue to adjust its flight schedule as needed.

No official timeline has been given for when operations at DXB or DWC will resume. Passengers are strongly advised to follow official airport and airline channels for real-time updates as the situation remains fluid.
