Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced revised paid parking timings for Ramadan, introducing a two-hour free window around Maghrib to make it easier for residents to break their fast and attend evening prayers.

Throughout the holy month, paid parking will operate in two shifts from Monday to Saturday: 8am–6pm and 8pm–12 midnight. This means motorists can enjoy free parking from 6pm to 8pm—right when most families gather for iftar and the first Maghrib prayers. Multi-storey parking facilities will continue to operate 24/7 as usual.

The RTA has also revealed revised Ramadan schedules for key public transport services:

Dubai Metro Timings:

  • Monday to Thursday: 5am–12 midnight
  • Friday: 5am–1am (next day)
  • Saturday: 5am–12 midnight
  • Sunday: 8am–12 midnight

Dubai Tram Timings:

  • Monday to Saturday: 6am–1am (next day)
  • Sunday: 9am–1am (next day)

Commuters using public buses are encouraged to check the S’hail app for updated timings, and marine transport users can refer to the RTA website. Customer happiness centres, vehicle inspection, and other service providers will also adjust their operating hours to accommodate Ramadan routines.

The UAE’s moon-sighting committee is expected to convene on February 17 to determine the official start of Ramadan, with the holy month set to begin the following day if the crescent is sighted.

These changes are designed to support residents’ needs during Ramadan, making it easier to observe religious practices while navigating city life.
