Dubai’s RTA Opens 700-Metre Northern Bridge to Ease Traffic

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has inaugurated the Northern Bridge at the intersection of Al Qudra Street and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, marking a new milestone in the city’s drive to expand and modernise its infrastructure.

The 700-metre bridge provides a direct, two-way link along Al Qudra Street, designed to streamline traffic flow, ease congestion, and improve travel times for motorists. It forms part of a larger plan to accommodate Dubai’s rapid urban growth and surging vehicle numbers.

RTA officials say the new bridge works in tandem with the recently opened structure at Al Marabea Al Arabiya and Dubai Studio City, forming a comprehensive network that boosts connectivity between key residential and emerging commercial areas.

The development is expected to benefit around 400,000 residents and visitors, significantly reducing traffic bottlenecks and enhancing road safety in neighbouring communities. Uninterrupted traffic movement and reduced waiting times at intersections will support smoother daily commutes between residential hubs and business zones.

This project aligns with Dubai’s long-term transport master plan, which emphasises smart mobility, sustainable infrastructure, and an improved quality of life for all residents. The RTA continues to invest in strategic expansions to ensure the city’s road network keeps pace with population growth and economic activity.

The inauguration of the Northern Bridge highlights Dubai’s commitment to forward-thinking urban planning. As new communities and business districts emerge along the Al Qudra corridor, improved road connectivity remains essential for efficient movement across the emirate.

With this latest addition, motorists can look forward to smoother commutes and better accessibility, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation for world-class infrastructure development.
