.Petrol and diesel remain below their 2026 peaks, offering savings for UAE drivers
Dubai: UAE motorists are paying less for petrol and diesel this September than they did at the highest fuel prices recorded earlier this year, with diesel users seeing the biggest drop.
The September 2026 rates are Dh3.80 per litre for Super 98, Dh3.69 for Special 95, Dh3.61 for E-Plus 91 and Dh4.30 for diesel.
Petrol prices reached their 2026 peak in June. Super 98 rose to Dh3.95 per litre, Special 95 to Dh3.83 and E-Plus 91 to Dh3.76. September rates are therefore around 4 per cent below their yearly highs.
How much can motorists save?
A 60-litre tank of Special 95 costs Dh221.40 this September, compared with Dh229.80 at June’s peak, giving motorists a saving of Dh8.40 per fill.
For Super 98, the same 60-litre fill costs Dh228, compared with Dh237 at the peak, saving Dh9. E-Plus 91 costs Dh216.60 for 60 litres, compared with Dh225.60 in June.
Drivers with larger tanks can save more. An 80-litre Special 95 fill costs Dh295.20, which is Dh11.20 less than at the June peak. The saving for Super 98 and E-Plus 91 is Dh12 per 80-litre fill.
Frequent drivers save more
The savings become more noticeable for motorists who refuel regularly.
A driver consuming 240 litres of Special 95 a month would spend Dh885.60 at September’s rate, compared with Dh919.20 at the June peak — a monthly saving of Dh33.60. For Super 98, the same consumption costs Dh912 this month, compared with Dh948 at the peak, saving Dh36.
Diesel sees bigger drop
Diesel reached Dh4.69 per litre in April and May, then fell to Dh4.30 in September. The current price is 39 fils, or about 8.3 per cent, below the 2026 peak.
A 60-litre diesel fill now costs Dh258, compared with Dh281.40 at the peak, saving Dh23.40. For 240 litres a month, the difference rises to Dh93.60.
For UAE motorists, the overall saving depends on fuel type, tank size and monthly consumption, but September prices remain noticeably below the year’s highest levels.
