UAE Dirham Stays Strong Against Indian, Pakistani and Philippine Currencies

Dubai: People from India, Pakistan and the Philippines who live in the UAE are happy because they can send money home at a good rate. The rupee, Pakistani rupee and Philippine peso are all weak compared to the UAE dirham.

The Indian rupee is very weak now. It is trading at around ₹26.08 per dirham. This is one of the levels it has been at in a long time. Many Indian expats are taking advantage of this and sending money back home. Some people are sending money now and waiting to see if the rate gets even better.

The Philippine peso is also weak. It is trading between 16.00 and 16.48 per dirham. Experts think this is due to economic and political problems in the Philippines. The UAE dirham is linked to the US dollar. So when the US dollar is strong the dirham is also strong compared to currencies like the peso. The Pakistani rupee is not changing much. It is staying at a level. This is good for people from Pakistan who live in the UAE and send money home.

Here are the exchange rates as of 8:38am, July 27:

  • Indian rupee: 26.09 per UAE dirham. This is a little better than yesterday, when it was 26.16.
  • Pakistani rupee: 75.67 per UAE dirham. This is the same as yesterday.
  • Philippine peso: 16.74 per UAE dirham. This is a little better than yesterday, when it was 16.77.

Even though the rates are good today, they can change quickly. Many experts advise people to send money in amounts over time. This is better than trying to send all the money when the rate is good. Indian, Pakistani and Philippine currencies and the UAE dirham are all affected by things. Indian, Pakistani and Philippine expats should keep an eye on the rates to get the best deal.
