Saudi Arabia Launches New Red Sea Shipping Route Connecting India and Djibouti

Jeddah: Saudi Arabia has started a shipping service that connects the country with India and Djibouti. This will help Saudi Arabia become a bigger centre for trade and logistics, linking Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

The Saudi Ports Authority, Mawani, has begun this service. It will go through Jeddah Islamic Port and will directly connect with Mundra Port and the Port of Djibouti. Emirates Shipping Line operates this route. The ships can carry up to 2,144 containers, which makes it easier and faster to move cargo around the region and the world.

Mawani says this new shipping route will make trade easier and faster across the Red Sea, which’s a very important route for ships. This service will help reduce delays, make cargo movement smoother, and support trade between Saudi Arabia, India and East Africa.

Saudi Arabia is spending a lot of money on transportation and logistics to make its economy stronger and less dependent on oil. Better connections by sea are seen as a way to increase exports, attract investment, and help industries grow.

This new route is also part of Saudi Arabia’s plan to become a global centre for logistics connecting Asia, Africa and Europe. India is one of Saudi Arabia’s trade partners, and Djibouti is an important gateway to East Africa. By connecting these places, the service will create new opportunities for businesses, make cargo movement more efficient and strengthen economic ties in the region.

People who watch the industry say this new service shows that there is a growing need for shipping routes. It also shows that Saudi Arabia is working hard to become more competitive in maritime trade and to remain a leading logistics hub in the region. The new shipping service is a step forward for Saudi Arabia and its trade partners, including India and Djibouti. Saudi Arabia’s efforts to improve its logistics and trade capabilities will likely have an impact on the region and the world.
