The High Criminal Court in Bahrain has given life sentences to three people in two cases. These cases are about the people’s supposed connections to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The Bahrain News Agency says that the prosecutors found out that two men were talking to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. They wanted to do things in Bahrain. The court did not give them life sentences but also fined them 10,000 Bahraini dinars each. The court also took away the things that were found during the investigation.
The people in charge said that they found out Iran’s intelligence services and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were trying to get people to work for them. These people would watch places in Bahrain. The prosecutors said that they were getting ready to attack Bahrain and make the country unstable.
The court found out that the first person ran away to Iran and then got the person to help him in Bahrain. They were sending money to groups and collecting information about important places in Bahrain. The prosecutors said that they were giving this information to the authorities.
In another case, the court gave a life sentence to a woman. She was talking to the Revolutionary Guards. Wanted to do bad things to Bahrain. The prosecutors said that she was using the media to post pictures and maps of important places in Bahrain. She was also posting things that criticised Iran’s actions against Bahrain.
The Public Prosecution said that doing things that threaten Bahrain’s safety and independence is a serious crime. It can even lead to the death penalty.
These latest decisions come at a time when there is a lot of tension between the Gulf states and Iran. They do not agree on security, politics and Iran’s supposed support for groups. The people in charge in Bahrain have said many times that they will do everything to keep Bahrain safe and stable. Bahrain’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is a threat to Bahrain, and the authorities are watching them closely. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iran’s intelligence services are trying to cause trouble in Bahrain.
