Fujairah Confirms Loud Noises Across UAE Were Stops of Iranian Threats

Fujairah, May 8 2026: The government in Fujairah said on Friday that the loud noises people heard in parts of the UAE were from successful air defence stops targeting missile and drone threats from Iran.

In a statement from the Fujairah Media Office officials said the noises people reported in areas were from ongoing aerial interception operations carried out by the countrys defence systems. They also said that their defence systems successfully stopped threats as part of wider security operations amid rising tensions in the region.

The statement came after the UAE Ministry of Defence announced that air defence systems had been activated early on Friday morning in response to missile and drone threats targeting the country. The UAE’s defence systems worked well. They stopped the threats. This happened while there are rising tensions in the region.

People got emergency alerts and safety advisories across emirates following the stops. They were told to stay calm and only rely on channels for updates.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority advised people to stay in their locations and not to spread unverified information online. Officials also warned people not to approach, touch or photograph debris from the stops. They stressed that specialised teams needed to secure affected areas.

People were told to report any objects or fragments immediately by contacting emergency services through 999.

Authorities said they still have measures in place while monitoring developments linked to the ongoing regional security situation.

This incident happens while tensions are high in the Gulf region because of the US–Iran tensions. These tensions have already affected aviation, shipping routes and energy markets across the Middle East.

Security agencies across the UAE are working closely together to keep people safe and ensure essential services continue.

Officials said it is very important to follow government updates and cooperate with emergency instructions as the situation evolves. UAE authorities confirmed that loud noises heard across Fujairah and other areas were, from stops of Iranian missile and drone threats. They told people to stay calm and follow guidance.
