UAE flights disrupted as airlines issue weather advisories

Dubai: Travellers in the United Arab Emirates are being advised to plan as bad weather continues to affect flights and airport operations. This has prompted airlines to issue travel advisories.

The UAE is experiencing weather because of a low-pressure system. This is causing skies, rainfall and strong winds. The weather is expected to get better over the weekend.

Carriers like Emirates, Flydubai, Air Arabia and Etihad Airways have warned passengers of delays and disruptions. This is due to weather across several parts of the country.

Airports issue alerts

Authorities at airports like Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport have advised travellers to allow extra time for their journeys. Wet roads and reduced visibility could delay access to terminals.

Sharjah International Airport has also urged passengers to stay updated on flight schedules. They warned that changing weather conditions may affect departures and arrivals.

Airlines adjust operations

Airlines have introduced measures to be safe. They have reduced flight schedules, rerouted paths and extended travel times. Passengers are encouraged to check their flight status before leaving and arrive early.

Emirates has advised travellers to arrive least two hours early. They should also ensure their contact details are updated to receive real-time alerts. The airline is offering options like rebooking and refunds.

Etihad Airways is operating a schedule from Abu Dhabi. They have urged passengers to travel with confirmed bookings. The airline is also offering fee- changes and refunds for eligible tickets.

Flydubai has recommended passengers arrive up to four hours before departure. They noted that weather-related rerouting may extend flight durations. Air Arabia has confirmed that operations may be affected. They are offering options for rescheduling or refunds.

Travel advice

Authorities said safety is their priority. Passengers are advised to monitor updates from airlines and avoid travel to airports without confirmed bookings. They should also allow time for airport transfers.

The weather is expected to stay unsettled, for now. Travellers are urged to stay informed and remain flexible as conditions evolve.
