Dubai residents will have the chance to take charge of their health this Ramadan, thanks to a new initiative offering free pre-iftar medical check-ups across the city. The program, called ‘A Step of Life’, is being rolled out by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in partnership with Prime Medical Care and Noor Dubai Foundation.
The free screenings will be available on February 26, March 5, and March 12 at some of Dubai’s most popular outdoor spots: Quranic Park, Kite Beach, and Nad Al Sheba Park. Residents can drop in for tests daily from 4pm until sunset, just before iftar. Organizers say hours may be extended if there’s high demand.
Services on offer include eye exams, blood pressure checks, and blood sugar testing—all aimed at helping people spot early signs of chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. This focus is especially timely during Ramadan, when fasting can pose additional risks for those managing underlying health issues.
But the initiative isn’t limited to fixed locations. Mobile medical buses will also be touring busy areas around Dubai, spreading awareness about healthy habits and offering family-friendly advice on staying well during the holy month.
Mohammed Musbeh Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charity Sector and General Coordinator of the campaign, highlighted that this year’s drive is placing a special emphasis on families and children. The goal is to make health checks a regular, community-wide habit—not just a once-a-year event.
Residents are encouraged to stay tuned to official channels for the latest updates on locations and timings, and to take full advantage of the free services offered to all citizens and residents throughout Ramadan.
