Dubai–Sharjah Commuters Face Long Delays Amid Heavy Evening Traffic

Heavy traffic in Dubai on Monday evening. Thousands of people were stuck in traffic because the roads that connect Dubai and Sharjah were very congested. This happened at a time when most people are going home from work.

There were a lot of cars on the roads that connect the two cities. This made the traffic move slowly. Some of the roads had traffic that was stopping and starting all the time. The roads that connect Dubai and Sharjah were the worst. There were lines of cars at the places where you enter or exit these roads. People were stuck in traffic for a time because they were going home from work.

Major Congestion Hotspots

The people in charge of the traffic and the systems that monitor the traffic said that some roads were very congested. These roads included:

  • Port Saeed towards Sharjah via E11
  • Mirdif towards Al Qusais Industrial Area via E311
  • Al Jadaf and Zabeel Second corridors
  • University City access roads in Sharjah
  • Al Nahda and Industrial Area districts
  • Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311)

The traffic on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road was very bad. There were a lot of cars on this road. It made the traffic very slow.

Minor Accidents Add to Delays

There were some accidents on the roads. These accidents made the traffic even worse. The places that had accidents and traffic included:

  • Karama
  • Al Twar 3
  • Umm Hurair Second
  • Nad Al Hamar Road
  • Al Rashidiya
  • Muhaisnah districts
  • Dubai Festival City
  • Al Mamzar–Deira corridor

In Sharjah, there was also a lot of traffic around Al Nahda, Industrial Area 4, S113 and the roads around these areas.

Extended Travel Times

The traffic was very bad. There were some accidents. This made the travel time long. Many people said that it took them a lot longer to get there than it usually does. The traffic was very bad when most people are going home from work. This was especially true for the roads that people use to travel between Dubai and Sharjah.

The people in charge of traffic told drivers to plan their trips of time. They also told them to leave and to try to find other roads to use.
