Abu Dhabi is working hard to become a player in advanced aviation technology. The city has plans to create a system for designing, making and operating new kinds of air travel. This is part of Abu Dhabi’s plan to change its economy and become a leader in technology. The city wants to be at the forefront of transportation technologies.
New Air Travel Technology
This new technology includes planes that can take off and land straight up and down, self-flying cars, air taxis and smart ways to move cargo. Instead of just buying these technologies from other countries, Abu Dhabi wants to make them itself.
Building a New Aviation System
The people in charge are trying to create an environment that helps companies attract big aviation companies and encourages universities to develop new ideas in smart aviation, artificial intelligence and self-flying systems. This new area of technology is expected to create jobs in engineering, software development, data analysis and other areas. It will also bring in a lot of money from international investors.
New Partnership
As part of this plan, the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council helped the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority and the Integrated Transport Centre work together. They want to create rules and standards for air travel technologies, like electric and self-flying planes. They will also build a centre in Al Ain to help design and test new planes and to train people.
Becoming a Global Leader
The people in charge say this plan will help Abu Dhabi become a leader in aviation technology. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, who is in charge of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, said this partnership will help the UAE become a leader in aviation rules and get ready for the future of air travel.
Badr Salim Sultan Al Olama, who is in charge of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, said Abu Dhabi has a lot of things going for it and is in a great position to become a global centre for new aviation technology. Dr Abdullah Hamad Al Ghafli, who is in charge of Abu Dhabi Mobility, said this agreement is a step towards making Abu Dhabi a hub for new aviation technology.
Looking to the Future
This project is part of a plan to attract companies that are working on new transportation technologies. Abu Dhabi is investing a lot in self-flying systems, electric planes and smart transportation infrastructure. The city wants to be a leader in creating aviation technologies, not just a user of them.
