Dubai: The United Arab Emirates has announced travel and visa rules for people from three African countries. This is because the United Arab Emirates wants to stop the Ebola virus from spreading.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security made this decision together. It affects people from the Democratic Republic of the Congo Uganda and South Sudan.
The United Arab Emirates will not give visas to people from these three countries. This includes visas for visiting. The United Arab Emirates will also not let people in who are coming from these countries. This rule even applies to people who go through countries first.
These new rules start at 1:00 pm on June 6 2026. They might stay in place. They might change. This depends on what happens with the Ebola virus. If someone has been outside the affected countries for more than 21 days, they can still come to the United Arab Emirates. They have to follow the rules, though.
