Giant Messi Statue in India to Be Removed Over Safety Concerns

Lionel Messi’s big statue in the city of Kolkata is going to be taken down because officials are worried that it is not safe. The statue of Lionel Messi is 21 metres tall. It is gold in colour. It shows Lionel Messi holding the FIFA World Cup trophy. This statue was shown to the public when Lionel Messi came to India for his “GOAT Tour of India” in December.

The people in charge in West Bengal found out that the big statue of Lionel Messi is not safe. This happened when engineers saw that it was moving when the wind was strong.

The workers are trying to make the statue of Lionel Messi safe by putting ropes around it. This is what state legislator Sharadwat Mukherjee said. He also said that it is hard to take down the statue of Lionel Messi. The statue of Lionel Messi is near a road, and a lot of football fans like to go see it. People in this area really like football. The officials have not said yet if the statue of Lionel Messi will be put up again in another place.

Lionel Messi is 38 years old now. He plays football for Inter Miami CF. He is still one of the football players in the world because he helped Argentina win the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
