Etihad Rail is getting ready to start passenger train services in the UAE in 2026. To do this they have started a campaign to teach people about safety on the railways.
The campaign is a part of getting passenger trains running, and it wants to teach people who live near the railways, drivers and future passengers how to be safe around the trains. They will show messages on television, on the internet, and on billboards. They will also talk to people in all parts of the UAE.
Etihad Rail says the campaign is based on an idea: safety is about caring for each other. They want to make sure that passengers, drivers, people who live near the railways and the people who run the railways all work together to be safe. The people in charge say they want to make sure everyone knows how to be safe on the railways for a time, as the UAE starts a new way of transporting people.
When passenger trains start running, it will happen in steps to make sure everything is safe, reliable and comfortable from the start. Etihad Rail says the trains will connect 11 cities and areas in the UAE with a transport system that will make it easier for people to get around.
Etihad Rail has been around since 2009. It currently runs freight trains on about 900 kilometres of railway lines from Ghuwaifat near the Saudi border to Fujairah on the eastern coast. The railway lines already help cargo trains run through 11 terminals and four big ports.
When passenger trains start, they will change the way people travel in the UAE by giving them an efficient and environmentally friendly way to get around. This will be good for people who commute to work for families and for business travellers.
Adhraa Almansoori, who is the Director of Public Policy and Sustainability at Etihad Rail, says the campaign is meant to teach people about safety on the railways and to encourage them to be responsible when they’re near the trains. She wants to make sure people know how to interact with the railways as they expand.
As part of this, Etihad Rail has also shown some advertisements that show what it will be like for passengers to ride the trains. The campaign will also go to schools and local communities to teach people everywhere in the UAE about safety on the railways, as the passenger train network gets bigger.
