The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come up with a plan to assess Grade 12 students in the UAE. This change is because of the conflict between US, Israel and Iran that disrupted exams.
- Many students could not finish their board exams that started on February 17 and were set to end on April 10.
- To solve this CBSE told schools to calculate scores using a mix of completed exam papers and internal assessments.
For subjects where exams took place, marks will be given as usual. For missed papers, schools will look at class tests, pre-board exams and other internal evaluations to give marks. Students who could not attend any board exams will be assessed on their school performance.
Pre-board exams are now very important for grades. CBSE instructed schools to pick the marks from quarterly half-yearly and pre-board exams for subjects with more theory marks. For subjects with theory marks the final pre-board scores will be the main reference.
Practical and internal assessment marks stay the same. Will be directly included in the final results. These marks contribute a lot depending on the subject.
Schools must upload all student marks on the CBSE online portal from April 6 to April 13 2026. Authorities stressed the need for documentation and transparency. They warned that submitted marks cannot be changed and may be checked.
Students who are not happy with their results can take exams in July 2026. CBSE reassured students and parents that the new evaluation process will be fair and credible for university admissions
