UAE flight delays: Storms disrupt travel, passengers urged to check status

Dubai is experiencing some bad weather so people who are flying from the United Arab Emirates today need to check if their flight is on time and leave for the airport a little earlier than usual. The weather is causing a lot of problems at the airport with rain, thunderstorms and strong winds.

The bad weather started night and it is affecting the whole country. There is lightning. It is raining really heavily which is making it hard for people to see. The people in charge have put measures in place to deal with the situation. Airlines and airports are saying that some flights are being delayed.

At Dubai International Airport some flights are already late. If you are flying to places like Jeddah, Muscat, Islamabad, Tashkent or Karachi you might be delayed a bit. Airlines are telling people to plan and check for updates before they go to the airport.

What people who are travelling should do is check if their flight is on time before they leave their house. They should also leave a little earlier than usual to get to the airport. It is an idea to make sure the airline has your correct contact details so they can let you know if there are any problems.. People should only go to the airport if they have a confirmed booking.

Emirates is saying that the bad weather might cause problems on the roads between March 23 and 27. They are telling people to get to the airport least two hours before their flight and to check for updates. Some Emirates and flydubai flights are already a little late.

Air Arabia is saying that the bad weather might affect flights from Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. They are telling people not to go to the airport unless they have a confirmed booking.

Etihad Airways is not flying many planes as usual from Abu Dhabi. If your flight is affected the airline will contact you directly. You might be able to change your flight or get a refund.

The main thing to remember is that the weather is still unpredictable so people who are travelling should be prepared for delays and changes, to their flights. Airlines are saying that safety is the important thing so they are being very careful. People should stay updated. Leave a little extra time to get to the airport. Dubai International Airport and the airlines are doing their best to deal with the weather.
